18 Our story begins, not surprisingly, with Mobile 1.0, an app enthusiastically received by BSU students eager to have o used services at the tip of nger, stylus or thumb. Mobile 1.0, however, simply whet the appetite for more. Student Aairs professionals heard the call. Ed Cabellon, assistant to the vice president of Student Aairs, partnered with Eileen O'Sullivan, director of Web Development, and the two led the charge. ey worked together to collect information and data. What did the students want? What did they most want? How should the display look and feel? "is was a great partnership," said Mr. Cabellon. "It required us all to think holistically. How can technology help students stay engaged and stay connected when they're not physically on campus." Mobile 1.0's upgrade to 2.0 now features 21 services vs. the previous 9. It can be downloaded to Android and iOS phones and tablets and Windows tablets. It looks slick, and it's easy to use. Among other things, students can shop at the bookstore; access the BSU catalog; tune into emergency messages; track the buses; check menus in the dining halls; refer to the student handbook; or look up sports schedules. But by far the most used service is the course module, accessed by 89 percent of all users. Accounting student Chloe Corsi, '15, said, "My rst impression of 2.0 was that it was eye-catching and had a very easy to understand layout with all the essential tools a student needs." Chloe especially likes the way the app allows each student to customize the order of features according to personal preference. "e features I value the most," she said, "are the course module, bus tracker, cancellations and BSU Life.
