From my perspective, the CIO Council represents the depth and breadth of expertise that is valuable in ways far beyond information sharing and cost comparison. We also consult on more strategic issues having to deal with both the application of technology and the use of information. The mutual respect and trust within the group with respect to pooling expertise is unusually collaborative. It's so much more than just sitting in the same room. The working relationships developed over time among the members as a community of practice are what's most valuable. " "
