Raymond Lefebvre VP of Information Technology Chief Information Officer Welcome Journeys are meant to lead us forward, and that is exactly where we find ourselves today. We are continuing on our journey toward fulfilling our IT mission to enable and advance the success of students, faculty, staff and all related constituent groups and achieving our shared vision of providing innovative technology services, solutions, and outcomes … inspired in partnership with you. To that end, we are now focused on transitioning Information Technology from a support organization to a high- functioning service provider along the way to our becoming a true strategic partner to everyone at Bridgewater State University. is leg of our journey involves changing the culture of IT from approaching our work as simply operational (break/fix and keeping the lights on) to forging innovative partnerships with individuals, departments and divisions within the university with the goal of delivering far greater value and outcomes. IT began this culture-change journey nearly two years ago, and our ultimate success lies in our dogged perseverance. rough intentional action in the year ahead, we plan on educating ourselves and others about IT Service Management (ITSM) and how embracing a service culture will make a difference. Disseminating our message within the university community and reinforcing it is a full-time responsibility of every IT team member. To encourage innovation within our division, we have launched what we call "Technovation," referring to technology and innovation. Technovation happens in our "Technovater," a conference room turned brainstorming "incubator" decked out with eight low-tech white boards, conference tables and chairs, and a big screen TV with a Chromebit (computer- on-a-stick). Here, high-level brainstorming takes place – any day, any time – with IT team members coming together to apply technology in innovative ways to solve complex problems and to pursue new technologies. Guiding us farther along our journey, IT has developed a multi-year strategic plan and an IT 2020 technology roadmap that dovetail with the university's new strategic plan. We believe "we're better together," and are committed to continuous improvement, innovative outcomes, and operational excellence. We strive to forge diverse relationships and strategic partnerships. We invite you to join us on our journey and hope that you will agree that IT Outcomes 2017 speaks to the progress we have made toward becoming a true strategic partner to each member of the Bridgewater State University community. Enjoy!
