Creating the Counselor Education Lab required mega collaborations among faculty in counseling and staff in Facilities Management & Planning, outside vendors and IT. The task, simply said but not so simply done, was to repurpose five spaces in the Kelly Gym into state-of-the-art treatment rooms to meet the stringent requirements of CACREP (Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs). And though the timing of the project was dictated by the re-accreditation process, the ultimate goal was to give Bridgewater students the best counseling education possible. The new Counselor Education Lab accomplishes both. Dr. Victoria Bacon, professor of counselor education, is pleased. As faculty liaison with IT, she was intimately involved with the project.
